Whether you're just starting out or ready to invest in a professional workhorse, here are the machines I recommend.
The perfect starter machine. Large 5×7″ embroidery field, built-in designs, USB port for loading custom designs, and outstanding stitching quality for the price. The go-to recommendation for anyone just starting out.
A step up with a colour touchscreen, WiFi design transfer, and a larger design library. The SE700 bridges the gap between beginner and intermediate perfectly, with professional features at an accessible price.
For serious embroiderers who want professional-grade results. Large embroidery field (up to 8×11.4″), exceptional stitch quality, and outstanding reliability. An investment machine that will last decades.
The right stabilizer makes the difference between a beautiful design and a puckered mess. Here are the ones I use every day.
For stable woven fabrics like cotton, canvas, denim, and linen. Sulky Tear-Easy is my daily driver — it tears cleanly without leaving residue or distorting the design.
Essential for stretchy fabrics — t-shirts, polo shirts, jersey knits. Stays permanently in the design to prevent distortion over time. Pellon 70 is a reliable budget option.
Used on top of terry cloth, fleece, and velvet to prevent stitches from sinking into the pile. Dissolves completely when dampened with water. Sulky Solvy is the gold standard.
Quality thread makes every design shine. These are the brands I rely on day in, day out.
500+ colours with exceptional sheen. My choice for florals and decorative designs where visual impact matters most. Not for items that will be heavily laundered.
My number one overall thread. Machine-washable, colourfast, strong, and with beautiful sheen for a polyester. Works on everything, lasts forever.
Impressive quality at an accessible price point. Bright, consistent colours and reliable performance. A great choice when building your thread collection.
